The Truck will be out later this evening and the bakery's open now until about 2pm. We're at 1001-11 Main Street in Downtown Bridgeport between John and Cannon streets. They're still working on signage but you can enter through the white glass doors between Moe's Burger Joint and Gofer Ice Cream.

Sorry about that, Truckers. We really had no idea it would take this long to get the old girl back up and running. She's about 40 years vintage which is what? Like 70 in people years? Bottom line is she put in a good three plus years with no real major work to speak of, just tweaking here and there. So she was about due for something big.

We can't wait to see you all next week. We plan to be out around Tuesday/Wednesday (got a few holiday gigs to cater) and will let you know where and when Mondayish. Have a fantastic weekend loyal Truckers!

We saw our beloved Truck and it's almost there

Catching the holiday spirit

We always know when the holiday season is upon us. Not because the leaves have all turned brown are falling fast and furious. Or because the inevitable barrage of toy/gift/car commercials have started. But because we see egg nog on the shelves again.

Something about egg nog just gets us excited and puts us in a really good mood. We want to buy it, drink it and experiment with it as only bakers can. What's not to love about eggs, cream and that wonderful and powerful but oh-so-temperamental nutmeg? We want to put egg nog in everything and we try. Oh yes, we try. Like last year's mini Egg Nog Cheesecakes and today at our bakery, Rum 'n Nog Cupcakes. Our twist on traditional rum cakes and ode to good old egg nog.

We hope you get to try this decadent, decidedly adult treat and that it warms you in all the right places and puts you in the holiday spirit, too.

Our Truck's getting major work this week

Our trusty Grumman is garaged and having some MAJOR work done. Quadruple bypass major. We were assured that it would be ready and back in action within a few days.

In the meanwhile, we still baking—we're always baking!—and you can get our fresh-baked treats at our Bridgeport store. Hope to see you there soon!

What We Are Working On. And Not.

Hey Truckers!

Firstly, a special howdy to all of our new friends in Stamford. We had a great time with you guys yesterday and hope to visit again soon.

Secondly, we have been working really hard at maintaining our culinary/business integrity as we grow our delicious little business and if that means we keep politely declining Food Network's Cupcake Wars and Food Truck Race invitations then so be it....

Competitive programs like these can sometimes be fun to watch from the sidelines but if you really care about food and quality then we think it's hard, in all good conscience, to participate.

We are in the midst of finishing up Truck #2 (hopefully by the end of November) and there may be some other fun things by then also.

It's a busy month for cupcake bakers

Once the weather gets this nice, everyone wants cupcakes! And we happen to think we make the best cupcakes around :) So naturally we're booked with lots of graduation, engagement and birthday parties, baby and wedding showers, wedding receptions, bar/bat mitzvahs corporate fundraisers and more. Whew!

We WILL be out next week as soon we get a free day or two in our calendar and we'll be sure to bring some of our June flavor—it's berry season!—Sainted Strawberry and lots more.

Weather permitting, we'll be back out in time for Mother's Day with your favorite flavors along with some new goodies. We'll have some of our Cinco de Mayo special, a sweet, salty, tart, yummy Margarita Buttercream and our new May flavor, Rosé & Roses.

This last treat we whipped up just for mom who's sure to love the delicate, feminine flavor of the local rosé wine we discovered (it's delicious to drink, too!) topped with a luxurious rose buttercream rosette. Of course, you can always gild the lily and get a candied rose petal on top :) We hope you can stop by and get the amazing women in your life a few.

This week, we will be swinging by QU on Wednesday for a fundraiser benefiting Invisible Children. Then later this week, we'll be back at the UNH handing out goodies to hungry students there craving a good cupcake. We look forward to seeing you all again!

WE'RE FEELING DUCKY
We're also getting our ducks in order for the Milford Harbor Duck Race this Sunday! The Truck won't be there this year but we're buying a duck (as well as donating raffle prizes) and will be rooting for it. If we win, some lucky Cupcake Truckers will be enjoying some great treats. We've been pondering how best to celebrate the amazing planet we all share. We finally decided that nothing short of a fantastic new cupcake would do, one that could live on on our menu.

A HEALTHY CUPCAKE?
Have we got a treat for you today! Whether or not you're into "healthy" food, we have a cupcake that you're gonna absolutely lo-ove. We call it The Health Nut and it's full of wonderful stuff and is seriously delicious. It has NO dairy (milk, cream, butter), eggs, white flour, tons of sugar or any artificial flavors.

What it does have is organic whole wheat flour, antioxidant-rich organic cocoa, organic, fresh-ground flax seeds, non-GMO soy milk, non-hydrogenated shortening and margarine, natural peanut butter and organic coconut oil. And that frosting! Fluffy, creamy, chocolatey and nutty all at the same time. We have a limited supply in our store today and we hope you can stop in.

SATURDAY, WALK THIS WAY
We'll be sure to bring some more with us when we park tomorrow. We were invited to stop by Artspace in New Haven for a fashion seminar event called "The Urban Catwalk". We're still working on the parking particulars and will confirm once we know them.

IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS
Can't make it to the store or Truck this week. Here are two more simple ways to make a difference in the world. 1) Join the Elm City Market Coop. 2) Plant something. Even if you live in the tiniest apartment ever, you can still grow a tomato plant in a pot and enjoy at least one fresh, healthy vegetable for many months of the year.

It's not easy but we do what we can like using natural paper boxes and sourcing all-natural, local/regional or organic ingredients whenever possible. Winter is breakdown season it seems. Every winter the area's bad roads takes it toll and it looks like this year is no exception.

We had some major troubles with our Truck on our way from Hartford yesterday (remember it's pretty ol...ah, vintage) and barely made it back to Cupcake Headquarters. Thanks to the Hartford Police Department and Sargent Garth, in particular, for your help.

We do apologize for the inconvenience everyone but hope that you enjoy the games today anyway. Our store is open if you happen to be in the Bridgeport area today and we hope you'll stop by.

Anyhoo. We'll be parking as close as we can get to YNHH so our friends there can easily find us. We'll be on Congress Ave (near College St intersection) for as long as we have cupcakes and the rain holds off. Hope to see you there, too!

Parking this Saturday 2/12

We're hoping to park the Truck Downtown New Haven (weather permitting) on Saturday so you can get some sweets for yourself or your sweetheart.

We have a new flavor just for the month of February; we call it Sainted Strawberry (think chocolate covered strawberries). One taste and you'll know think it's divine, too! Of course, we'll also have our yummy Chocolate and Red Velvet.

Yup, it's that time of year when we all start to see red. All this month, we're celebrating l-o-v-e and its power to do great things (like end world strife).

What a winter this is turning out to be. Are you as tired of shoveling as we are? Well, at least we're halfway to spring. Just a few more short albeit cold, wet, snow-capped weeks to go. Hang in there Cupcake Truckers!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth at today's e-fair. Thanks to you we sold out early! For those of you who missed us and can make it to our store, we open at 5:30pm today for another event and we'd love to see you.

If not, look for the Truck to be back on the streets of New Haven and beyond starting early February.

The e-fair in Waterford today!

We're on our way to the e-list's e-fair in Waterford! We've got Chocolate, Red Velvet plus our seasonal January flavor, Maple Walnut and our new Malted Root Beer Float cupcakes.

Because of all the snow out there, we'll be inside at a booth. So don't look for the Truck today but do stop by to say hello and get some cupcakes to go!

We're there only until we sell out. So be sure to come early!

Year of the cupcake

We are always excited to start a new year. It's a whole new opportunity to meet new people, see old friends and, yes, bake more cupcakes!

We have lots of fun stuff coming this year including great new flavors, new goodies, new promotions, new Truck Stops and more. But you gotta roll with us to be part of it all.

Btw, if you're tired of the snow and cold, take heart! Spring will be here in about 60 days. Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the e-fair next Saturday. It's indoors i.e. warm and toasty :)

Having a Dream

A few years ago we had a dream of creating a business that would not be judged by the glossiness of its advertising but by the quality of its product. With lots of hard work and perseverance, that dream became reality with the country's very first ever Cupcake Truck. So on this day when we celebrate the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we wanted to pause and thank you, loyal Cupcake Truckers, for helping us realize our dream.

That's right Cupcake Truckers, we're headed to the-e-fair at the end of the month. Of course, we hope to be out and about before then weather permitting but we wanted to give you ample time to put it on your calendars. Should be lots of fun with great food, music, shopping and cupcakes!

Hello Cupcake Truckers!

We’ve been getting a ton of the white stuff (snow not vanilla frosting) and the roads have been pretty tough to navigate so the Truck probably won't be out this week. If things get cleared up enough and we can make it out toward the end of the week, we will. So stay tuned.

Until then, don't forget that you can always pick up our yummy sweets (including a brand new flavor tomorrow and January's special flavor, Maple Walnut, this Friday) at our new store Toppings. It's located inside Bridgeport’s Historic Arcade Mall at 1001 Main Street. For those of you who've had trouble finding us, it's the building with the white glass doors on Main between John and Cannon streets. It's been recently renovated and we hear they're working hard on signage. So in the meantime, just look for the visual cues above and come on in.
